Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Manager, Indirect report to Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Shift: Nights, Rotating 12s
Salary: $24/hr starting; negotiable with experience
Summary Repairs and maintains production machinery, conveyor lines mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment such as fabricating machine tools, material handling system, and automated lubrication system by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions while working with machine operators.
Ensures safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic systems equipment and components.
Observes all health and safety requirements and maintains work area in neat order and orderly condition.
Uses common tools including but not limited to: hand and power tools such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Troubleshoots sources of equipment problems by observing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic systems equipment and component devices in the operation; uses precision measuring and testing instruments. Knowledge of 3 –phase electrical, motor control center, pump, motors, compressors, variable frequency drives, wiring and PLC Programming required.
Inspects motors and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, and performs other maintenance actions while following maintenance procedures.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of equipment per work procedures or technical manual.
Perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance of process equipment throughout the plant to include mechanical, pneumatic, valves, lines, connections, pumps, and electrical maintenance.
Reports immediately to supervisor problems and unusual situations which cannot be resolved quickly.
Performs upgrades and install new systems when required.
Repairs broken parts. Sets up and operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts.
Operates forklifts and high lifts, and other powered lift equipment as needed
Adherence to company policies, including its attendance is essential. Must be flexible to come in early, stay late and may need to be “on call" in case of emergencies.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may be required to assist and /or oversee outside vendors /service contractors.

Education and/or Experience
Fifth year college or university program certificate in electrical and/or mechanical fields; or four years related experience in a manufacturing or Industrial setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PLC training preferred. Must be willing to attend training classes.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical control systems using electrical and mechanical diagrams, meters, gauges, etc.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of RPM and PDE Manufacturing software, Microsoft Windows based software as well as PLC structured software.
