Procurement Manager

OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our growing team.  This individual will oversee and direct the activities of purchasing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Negotiates price & delivery to budget and schedule for materials and products
  • Assesses current material availability, reasonably predicts future availability based on market, delivery systems and other variables
  • Evaluates and approves bids
  • Processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment
  • Monitors procurement requests and direct requests from other departments
  • Develops and manages vendor relationships
  • Researches and evaluates suppliers to maintain sufficient capacity
  • Assists in managing order status reporting
  • Notifies departments of purchase order status
  • Interacts with suppliers to maintain delivery schedules
  • Reduces back orders and late deliveries through consistent communication with vendors
  • Notifies suppliers of quality issues and manages supplier disposition/corrections
  • Coordinates returned goods to vendors for credit
  • Collaborate with warehouse on inventory items
  • Recommend vendor managed inventory opportunities
  • Strive for price and cost reductions to meet budget requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in related field
  • Manufacturing background strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with proven negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
