Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our growing team. This individual will oversee and direct the activities of purchasing.

OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our growing team. This individual will oversee and direct the activities of purchasing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiates price & delivery to budget and schedule for materials and products
- Assesses current material availability, reasonably predicts future availability based on market, delivery systems and other variables
- Evaluates and approves bids
- Processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment
- Monitors procurement requests and direct requests from other departments
- Develops and manages vendor relationships
- Researches and evaluates suppliers to maintain sufficient capacity
- Assists in managing order status reporting
- Notifies departments of purchase order status
- Interacts with suppliers to maintain delivery schedules
- Reduces back orders and late deliveries through consistent communication with vendors
- Notifies suppliers of quality issues and manages supplier disposition/corrections
- Coordinates returned goods to vendors for credit
- Collaborate with warehouse on inventory items
- Recommend vendor managed inventory opportunities
- Strive for price and cost reductions to meet budget requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in related field
- Manufacturing background strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with proven negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet tight deadlines
- Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
