OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our growing team. This individual will oversee and direct the activities of purchasing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiates price & delivery to budget and schedule for materials and products
Assesses current material availability, reasonably predicts future availability based on market, delivery systems and other variables
Evaluates and approves bids
Processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment
Monitors procurement requests and direct requests from other departments
Develops and manages vendor relationships
Researches and evaluates suppliers to maintain sufficient capacity
Assists in managing order status reporting
Notifies departments of purchase order status
Interacts with suppliers to maintain delivery schedules
Reduces back orders and late deliveries through consistent communication with vendors
Notifies suppliers of quality issues and manages supplier disposition/corrections
Coordinates returned goods to vendors for credit
Collaborate with warehouse on inventory items
Recommend vendor managed inventory opportunities
Strive for price and cost reductions to meet budget requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in related field
Manufacturing background strongly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with proven negotiation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized and strong attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
